The Pavement Comparison Report allows you to plot several pavement structures side by side to facilitate easy comparison. This is useful when comparing different options for a design situation, or when comparing your designs with Catalogue designs.

Getting Started

The Pavement Comparison Report is accessed through the Reporting Tools icon on the Rubicon Toolbox Online Tools.

If this is the first time you are using the Online Tools, you will need to set up a project by clicking on the Manage Projects link and create a new project. Alternatively, you can use an existing project if one has already been created.

Once you have created a new project or selected an existing project, click on the Reporting Tools icon and select Pavement Comparison Report from the list. A Pavement Comparison Report page will open.

To start, download the Example Template, enter the relevant data and save the template.

The order in which pavements appear in the template also determines the order in which they will be plotted.

You can change the row captions in the left most column of the import template as you like (below the area highlighted in blue). To omit a label row, enter None in the label column.

The height of the columns with labels and descriptions will automatically size to suit the available column width. The pavement schematics will then take up the remaining space.

The short descriptor shown on each layer in the pavement schematic plot will automatically add the layer thickness using the current unit for length.

Running the Analysis

Once you have completed the template, proceed with the following steps to complete the analysis.

Note, the Export option is initially inactive. Once an analysis is saved, the export option becomes active and can be used to download the results in Excel format.

The report can be copied to the clipboard by right clicking on the report and selecting Copy image or Save image as. The image can then be inserted into a document of your choice (Word, Excel etc.). Alternatively, click on Export to downland your results in Excel format.
